Kyus was born and raised in When Kyus was younger, she always enjoyed writing. The freedom she felt made her feel alive, worthy to be here on God’s earth. Writing gave her something she could never find any other place. It was only natural that when times got hard, she wrote. . . When things were going well, she wrote. . . When she had nothing else to do, she wrote. . . As she got older, she became an ardent reader. She enjoyed being swept away by the books she read. She began developing her writing skills by writing poetry. After sharing her poems with many of her friends, she was encouraged to “put them in a book.” However, it was the prompting of the Holy Spirit that inspired her to publish her poems. She believes that her God-given gift was given to her for the sole purpose of being a blessing to others. She believed that God was going to bless her writing for that reason. So in 2001, she published her first book, To the Heart of Things, a Chapbook of Poetry. In Kyus’ writing, it is her desire to awaken the moral consciousness of her readers when they find themselves facing a moral dilemma and their heart is wrapped up in pain. Kyus has a saying that reflects her love of reading and writing:
The only thing better than being swept away by a great book is writing one!
Kyus is currently working on her second novel, a sequel to her first novel 'Because of Love.'
